Week 9- Observation Day in IIUM Gallery

On 10 May 2023- we were assigned to go to IIUM Gallery for observations and write three things that can relate with sustainable development. It was a great experience as I can learn more information about IIUM, thanks to Prof Dr Suhaimi for assigning us to do this task. Based on our observation in IIUM’s Gallery , we get a few points about Sustainable Development.



SDG 3 : Good Health and well-being 


IIUM has initiated to look forward to and concerning community health by providing a medical facility which is IIUM medical centre that are aligned with SDG 3. 


SDG 9 : Industry, innovation and infrastructure


The establishment of IIUM begins with only 2 main Kuliyyah which is AIKOL (Ahmad Ibrahim Kuliyyah of Law) and KENMS (Kuliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences), to produce more intellectual and expertise to supply industry needed, IIUM had offer a few more kulliyah such as KAED (Kuliyyah of Architecture) and KOE (Kuliyyah of Engineering) . This changes is parallel with SDG 9.



SDG 4 : Quality education


IIUM is considered one of the top five Islamic universities of the world and has been recognized as “The Premier International Islamic Research University” by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.In addition, it is one of the best public universities in Malaysia with a specific mission of Integration, Islamization, Internationalisation and Comprehensive Excellence.

17 May 2023     As per Prof Dr Suhaimi has informed us, on 17 May 2023 we will be having a mid term test which covers from topic week 1 to week 9 and the percentage for this test was 15%. Before start the quiz, Dr has provided us the google link form to answers the question. There are about 55 questions provided with 53 multiple choice questions and the rest were short answers. One of the short questions was asked to describe our sustainable group project. My group members have decided to choose “Declutter and Save Storage For Used Clothes in IIUM Gombak” for our project. The more stuff we have, the more waste we produce. But when we declutter it forces you to take a closer look at your spending and living habits. Week 8 - Roles of Institutions for Sustainable Development

 3 May 2023  Today's topic is mainly focused on two SDGs which are SDG 16 and SDG 17. Goal 16 is about promoting peaceful and inclusive societies, providing access to justice for all and building effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels. People everywhere should be free of fear from all forms of violence and feel safe as they go about their lives whatever their ethnicity, faith or sexual orientation.  High levels of armed violence and insecurity have a destructive impact on a country’s development. Sexual violence, crime, exploitation and torture are prevalent where there is conflict or no rule of law. Week 7- Challenges to Sustainable Development

19 April 2023 Today’s class Prof Dr Suhaimi asked us to watch a recorded lecture and write comments based on that video.After I watched the lecture, I have learned about three important figures of challenges to sustainability development which are economic, social and environmental that give big impact in our lives. These 3 aspects have their own challenges that we should cater to and look into to provide a better future for our next generations. There are 4 general challenges that give inequalities to those less fortunate in terms of educational resources, health facilities, food and clean water.
